Explain a strength with evidence — Speaking Exercise
Interviews · Beginner · 1–2 minutes speaking
Pick one strength relevant to a role and demonstrate it through a short example. Avoid giving a list of unsupported qualities.
Your speaking goal
Support a claim with an example
Plan your answer
Think in short notes rather than writing every sentence.
- Which strength matters for the role?
- When have you used it?
- What was the observable result?
One way to begin
One strength I bring is making complex information easier to use. For example, I rewrote a handover checklist after new starters kept missing a step.
Illustrative opening. Use your own experience and words.
Try it out loud
Say the strength in one sentence, give one example, and connect it to the role. Aim for 60 to 90 seconds.
Make a first attempt without stopping to fix every sentence. On the second take, change just one thing.

Would the example still show the strength if you removed the label?
If you record yourself, notice one sentence that worked and one place where a pause or simpler explanation would help.
